హృదయానికి దగ్గర దారి -వనజ తాతినేని 

రాజప్రాసాదం పై చంద్రుడు వడివడిగా ఊరేగుతున్నాడు. 

కోటగోడలపై నుండి ఊరేగుతున్న చంద్రుడిని చూస్తూ ..

అంతఃపురం లోని 27గురు రాచకన్యలు కోట గుమ్మాలకు 

ఆనుకుని ఘడియలు లెక్కెట్టుకుంటున్నారు. 

జంట చకోర పక్షులు వెన్నెలను తాగుతూ  విహరిస్తూ ఉన్నాయి 

 మతిస్థిమితం కోల్పోయిన  విరహిణిలు కొందరు 

లాంతరు చేత ధరించి పతిని వెతుక్కుంటూ బయలుదేరితే 

మరికొందరు బాట వెంబడి కాపుగాసారు 

ఎవరికివారు తమ కౌగిలిలో బంధించాలని. 

రోహిణి  మాత్రం తన ప్రేమనంతా వెన్నెలగా జేసి 

పతి  కార్యంలో  తాను పాలుపంచుకుని 

శరత్పూర్ణిమను మరింత శోభాయమానంగా మార్చింది.

నిశీధి గృహానికి తరలిపోయారు.

A pair of Chakora birds sip the moonlight and soar,

Some lovelorn women, having lost their minds,

Set out with lanterns in hand, searching for their lord,

While others lie in wait along his path,

Each wanting to bind him in her own embrace.

But Rohini alone,

Turned all her love into moonlight,

Partook in her lord's own work,

And made the autumn full moon night even more resplendent.

Having found the closest path to her lord's heart.

And before the sunrise,

Hand in hand with her lord's dearest friend,

She walked away into the house of night.

చావు లేని జ్ఞాపకాలను 

చావుతో సరిపుచ్చలేను 

అక్షరాల్లో భద్రం చేస్తాను 

ప్రియతమా! 

అప్పుడెప్పుడో .. 

నీకొక మాట చెప్పాను 

గుర్తుందా? 

“మన స్నేహం 

బంధంగా ముడిపడాలంటే 

కొందరి త్యాగాలు మాత్రమే కాదు 

దీవెనలు కూడా లభించాలి.

కన్నీటి నదులపై 

మన జీవిత నౌక సాగకూడదు” అని. 

అప్పుడు 

భారమైన నిట్టూర్పుతో నువ్వన్నావు 

“పన్నీరులా తలపించే 

కన్నీటిలో మునకలు వేస్తుంటాయి 

ప్రేమ పడవలు” 

నిబ్బరాన్ని ప్రోది చేసుకుంటూ

అన్నాను

“పడవలు మునగకుండా 

అరచేతులతో అడ్డుకుందాం

ఏదో ఒక వొడ్డున నిశ్చలంగా

నిలబడి వుంటే చాలు. 

ఏ వొంటరి రేవుతో అయినా 

పడవని ముడిపడనీయ్.”
