Without being asked, I gave my heart.
Whether I liked it or not, without asking me,
I gave my body to be plundered.
For your tasting of new flavors,
I gave the absence of my companionship for a thousand nights.
Just as I gave an heir to your lineage…
If someone asked to give it away,
I gave my thaali [wedding chain].
Because the daughter-in-law asked, I gave my son.
If I ask myself,
I gave an emptiness that can never be filled.
Obeying your family’s honor and prestige…
I became a docile cow.
Pouring out my youth and vitality,
I became a festoon at the doorway of the house.
After giving away so much…
If I now ask for a boon like death,
Would I not give that too?

ఐ యాం ఆల్వేస్ ఏ లూజర్
అడక్కుండానే మనసిచ్చాను
ఇష్టం ఉన్నా లేకున్నా నన్నడకుండా
దోచుకునేందుకు తనువిచ్చాను
నీ కొత్త రుచుల ఆస్వాదనకి
వేలరాత్రుల నా సహచర్య లేమినిచ్చాను
నీ వంశానికి ఒక వారసుడినిచ్చినట్లే..
ఎవరికో ఇవ్వమని అడిగితే..
నా తాళినిచ్చాను
కోడలు అడిగిందని కొడుకినిచ్చాను
నన్ను నేనడిగితే
పూరించలేని శూన్యాన్నిచ్చాను
మీ పరువుమర్యాదల పాలిస్తూ...
గంగిగోవునయ్యాను
జవసత్వాలని ధారపోసి
ఇంటి గుమ్మానికి తోరణమయ్యాను
ఇన్ని ఇచ్చేసినదానిని ..
మరణం లాంటి వరమివ్వమని కోరుకుంటే
ఇవ్వకుండా ఉంటానా ?
